Clean the top of the vial with an alcohol swab.
Remove the smaller syringe from the packaging.
Slide the cover off the needle and insert the needle into the vial at a 90-degree angle.
Flip the syringe and vial upside down and pull back on the syringe until you have drawn up your dose.
Flip the vial right side up and withdraw the needle from the vial.
Tap the syringe to bring any air bubble to the top.
Push the plunger up to expel the air until you see a tiny drop of medication come out.
Locate your injection site. Common sites include the abdomen (avoiding 2 inches around the navel), upper thigh, or back of the upper arm.
Take a pinch of skin between your thumb and index finger and hold it.
Inject the needle into the pinched skin at a 45-degree angle and inject slowly.
Remove the needle and dispose of it in a sharps container.
Store the vial as indicated on the packaging.
